\u201eBerg der Freude\u201c, erinnert an den Jubel der Pilger, die von hier aus die T\u00fcrme der <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/caminodesantiagofrances.com\/de\/lo\/kathedrale-von-santiago-de-compostela\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"gd_place\" data-id=\"12591\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kathedrale von Santiago<\/a><\/strong> sahen. Der \u00dcberlieferung nach wurde der Erste jeder Gruppe, der ankam, zum \u201eK\u00f6nig\u201c ausgerufen, Ursprung von Familiennamen wie Rey oder Leroy. Auf dem Gipfel gab es schon im Mittelalter eine dem heiligen Markus geweihte Kapelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Viele Pilger zogen hier die Schuhe aus und gingen das letzte St\u00fcck barfu\u00df und schweigend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mit der Zeit verfiel die Kapelle, doch der Berg blieb ein symbolischer Ort des <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/caminodesantiagofrances.com\/de\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"86\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Camino Franc\u00e9s<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Der Besuch von Johannes Paul II.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1989 fand hier der Weltjugendtag mit Johannes Paul II. statt, der 1982 nach Santiago gepilgert war. Um Hunderttausende junger Menschen zu empfangen, wurde der Berg erschlossen, und heute erinnert ein gro\u00dfes Denkmal an jene Besuche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Wo er liegt<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Auf rund 370 Metern und weniger als 5 km vom Zentrum Santiagos entfernt ist der Monte do Gozo die letzte Anh\u00f6he des Camino Franc\u00e9s; von hier geht es nur noch bergab bis in die Stadt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Dienste<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/caminodesantiagofrances.com\/de\/lo\/pilgerherberge-monte-do-gozo\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"gd_place\" data-id=\"14593\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Herberge Monte do Gozo<\/a><\/strong> mit mehreren Hundert Pl\u00e4tzen ist eine der gr\u00f6\u00dften des Jakobswegs, und es gibt Restaurant, Caf\u00e9 und Rastpl\u00e4tze.
