href=\"https:\/\/caminodesantiagofrances.com\/en\/leon-province\/ponferrada\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"11776\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ponferrada<\/a><\/strong>. It borders San Andr\u00e9s de Montejos and Cortiguera to the north, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/caminodesantiagofrances.com\/en\/leon-province\/fuentes-nuevas\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"11789\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fuentes Nuevas<\/a><\/strong> to the west, Cuatrovientos to the south and B\u00e1rcena del Bierzo to the east. This network of nearby villages allows for <strong>immediate connectivity with the town centre<\/strong>, without losing the rural essence that defines it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The elevation of 501 metres and the Bierzo microclimate create fertile, productive land, ideal for fruit, vegetable and especially wine-growing crops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Origin of the name and historical roots<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The place name <strong>Columbrianos<\/strong> has documented roots dating back to the years 923 and 928.
