href=\"https:\/\/caminodesantiagofrances.com\/en\/leon-province\/trabadelo\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"11830\">Trabadelo<\/a><\/strong>, located in the <strong>Comarca of El Bierzo<\/strong>, in the province of Le\u00f3n, in northwestern Spain. This small hamlet, nestled among mountains and forests, is strategically located halfway between <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/caminodesantiagofrances.com\/en\/leon-province\/villafranca-del-bierzo\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"11816\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Villafranca del Bierzo<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/caminodesantiagofrances.com\/en\/leon-province\/la-faba\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"11874\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">La Faba<\/a><\/strong>, right along the route of the <strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/caminodesantiagofrances.com\/en\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"86\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Camino Frances<\/a><\/strong><\/strong>. It is a natural and spiritual pause for <a href=\"https:\/\/caminodesantiagofrances.com\/en\/peregrinos\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"5880\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>pilgrims<\/strong><\/a> crossing the old Roman road that links the Valcarce valley with the mountains leading into Galicia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>A rural spot with a medieval essence<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite its small size, Pereje retains intact the <strong>traditional rural charm<\/strong> of El Bierzo. Its stone buildings and slate roofs, its cobbled paths and the constant murmur of the Valcarce River running through the village create an atmosphere of stillness and peace that invites rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Pereje, history can be felt on every corner. It is known that as early as the Middle Ages there was a <strong>pilgrim hospital<\/strong> here, run by Benedictine monks, whose mission was to offer food, a bed and comfort to exhausted walkers hamlet stands the <strong>Church of Santa Mar\u00eda Magdalena<\/strong>, a modest building of Romanesque origin that has been renovated over the centuries but still keeps its hospitable and spiritual vocation. It is common to find pilgrims here praying, writing in their journals or simply seeking a moment of inner silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its bell tower, visible from the entrance to the village, sets the pace of the place and welcomes those arriving on foot, by bicycle or on horseback.
