This is the last stretch of pure meseta: flat, straight, along a comfortable path beside the road, with a single village along the way \u2014 Reliegos \u2014 at the 13 km mark. Easy and fast by bike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reliegos: Earthen Wine Cellars and a Meteorite<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the entrance to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/caminodesantiagofrances.com\/en\/provincia-de-leon\/reliegos\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"11577\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Reliegos<\/a><\/strong>, a row of earthen mounds is honeycombed with <strong>semi-underground wine cellars<\/strong>: cool chambers where families make and store their own homemade wine. The village\u2019s other claim to fame fell from the sky: in 1947, three fragments of a <strong>meteorite<\/strong> struck here, one of the few falls in Spain with witnesses. Its four gates and its cobblestone-and-adobe towers are among the best preserved on the route.
