The Saint Nicholas Pilgrim Hostel is a refuge dedicated exclusively to pilgrims walking the Camino de Santiago who hold the credential needed to stay. This hostel sits in a very beautiful spot, between the villages of Itero del Castillo and Itero de la Vega. Both are in Burgos Province and form part of the route of the Camino de Santiago Frances, the most popular route among pilgrims.

The hostel is housed in the old hermitage of San Nicolás, less than a kilometre from the village of Itero de la Vega. This beautiful place is run by the Confraternita San Jacopo di Compostella, a group of Italians based in Perugia, a city known for its rich history and culture in Italy.

Besides enjoying a welcoming place to rest after a day of walking, it is well worth using the visit to see the old church, which has also been restored by the same Confraternita di Santiago de Compostela. This site not only has historical value, but also offers an interesting glimpse into the architecture and cultural heritage of the region.

The hostel offers pilgrims the chance to share a communal dinner, creating a pleasant atmosphere of camaraderie among those walking the Camino. A communal breakfast is also offered, where everyone can gather and start the day with energy. Both are offered in exchange for a voluntary donation, meaning each pilgrim can contribute what they consider fitting given their means. This way of taking part makes the hostel a place where solidarity and goodwill are fostered among those walking the Camino.
