A Peroxa is a small hamlet on the stretch between Melide and Boente, in the parish of Boente, in A Coruna Province, on the Camino Frances.
After leaving behind the Romanesque church of Santa María de Melide, the Camino heads into a landscape of oak and eucalyptus woods and small streams, and the ground starts to roll with gentle climbs up to A Peroxa. It is a cluster of a few houses, with no monuments or documented history of its own, and there is no point padding it out: its interest is that of the hamlets on this short and very pleasant stage, where settlements follow one another every little while among corredoiras and meadows. It is a good place to take things easy, because from here the profile becomes a constant up-and-down across small river valleys, the defining feature of the way between Melide and Arzúa.
