Samos Monastery Pilgrim Hostel

The pilgrim hostel inside the Monastery of Samos is a religious place designed especially to welcome pilgrims walking the Camino de Santiago who hold their corresponding credential. This hostel is in the picturesque town of Samos (Lugo Province), part of the southern variant of the Camino de Santiago Frances. Here, pilgrims receive a warm, hospitable Christian welcome, making their experience all the more special and meaningful.

The hostel occupies one of the monastery’s many wings. Inside, the ceilings are beautifully decorated with reproductions of the Romanesque frescoes found in the famous Basilica of Saint Isidore in León, giving pilgrims staying there a spiritual, cultural atmosphere.

There is also a small shop belonging to the Monastery near the entrance. Here you can find products made by the monks themselves, who spend part of their time carefully crafting handmade goods. It also offers a wide range of items related to the Camino de Santiago, such as CDs that could brighten up the journey, as well as delicious pastries and other products that might interest visitors.

The hostel has been designed to be accessible to everyone, including people with reduced mobility, reflecting a commitment to inclusion and the wellbeing of all pilgrims.

Pets are also allowed, but it is worth noting that they must be kept in a specific, separate area, ensuring that all guests, human and animal alike, can enjoy their stay comfortably and respectfully.
