Nájera Municipal Pilgrim Hostel

The Nájera Municipal Pilgrim Hostel is a place specifically designed to welcome those walking the Camino de Santiago Frances. This is a public hostel reserved exclusively for pilgrims holding a credential proving they are walking this historic route. It’s owned by the city council, which guarantees its upkeep and maintenance.

Opened in 2004, the hostel has been under new management since 2021, allowing improvements to be made and a better service offered to all walkers passing through Nájera (La Rioja). This hostel enjoys a privileged location, right next to the city’s old town and on the banks of the picturesque Najerilla river, giving pilgrims a peaceful, welcoming setting for their stop here.

Nájera is a city with great historical weight, not only as an important point on the Camino de Santiago, but also because it was once a residence of the kings of Castile over the centuries. The city is also famous for its historic monastery, which served as a pantheon for several kings of Castile as well as kings of Navarra, making it a place of great cultural and historical significance.

The hostel also has a lovely garden, designed for pilgrims wishing to relax and rest in a natural setting.
