Belorado Parish Pilgrim Hostel

The Belorado Parish Pilgrim Hostel is a religious place created specifically for pilgrims walking the Camino de Santiago Frances. This hostel is only for those holding their pilgrim credential. It sits in a prime spot in the centre of the town of Belorado (Burgos Province), right next to the Iglesia de Santa María, and is owned by the local parish.

This hostel is also home to an association bringing together the Swiss Friends of the Camino de Santiago, who share a spirit of camaraderie and support among pilgrims. The building housing the hostel was once Belorado’s old theatre, carefully renovated in 2016 to suit pilgrims’ needs.

In the evenings, the hostel holds Mass, open to anyone who wishes to attend. This is a special moment where pilgrims can gather to reflect and receive the pilgrim’s blessing, adding a sense of community and spirituality to their journey.

If the hostel is ever closed and its facilities are not accessible, pilgrims can turn to Fr. Ángel Santamaría, the parish priest, or Fr. Norberto Penargos, the vicar. They can be found at the parish house, on Plaza de San Francisco, number 7. This way, pilgrims always have somewhere to turn for help and guidance as they pass through this town.
