Rente is a small hamlet in the parish of Barbadelo, in the municipality of Sarria, in Lugo Province, on the Camino Frances.
Barely a kilometre from the Romanesque church of Barbadelo, Rente is a place of fewer than fifty residents, with stone houses, byres and hórreos, one of those spots pilgrims cross in a couple of minutes between meadows and moss-covered walls. There are no monuments or documented historical episodes worth highlighting, so there is no point inventing them: its value lies in the landscape and the calm. It has a rural guesthouse right on the Camino, a good option for anyone wanting to sleep in a Galician hamlet after leaving Sarria. Then the path continues along corredoiras and small woods towards A Serra and Mercado da Serra.
