A Ponte Campaña is a small hamlet in the parish of Mato, in the municipality of Palas de Rei, in Lugo Province, on the Camino Frances.
As its name suggests, the hamlet lies beside a bridge: the one over the river Pambre, the same river that, a few kilometres downstream, surrounds the medieval castle of Pambre, one of the best-preserved fortresses in Galicia. The river crossing is one of the coolest corners of the stage, with riverside woodland and the sound of water, after an up-and-down from San Xiao do Camiño. The hamlet itself is a handful of stone houses, with no monuments or documented history to tell, and there is no point embellishing it. After crossing, the Camino climbs gently to Casanova, the last place in Lugo Province before entering A Coruña.
