What is there in O Biduedo

O Biduedo is a village in the parish of Lamas do Biduedo, in the municipality of Triacastela, in Lugo Province, on the Camino Frances.

With about thirty residents, it is the first village in the municipality of Triacastela and owes its name to the birch trees, “bidús” in Galician, that line the descent. Its little gem is right on the Camino: the chapel of San Pedro, a single nave just a few metres long, built of slate and limestone, with a bell gable and a three-arched porch, which some authors consider the smallest chapel on the whole Camino Frances. Inside, decorated with flowers brought by the locals, you can stamp your credential. There are a couple of rural houses for anyone wanting to spend the night high in the mountains. From here the descent towards Fillobal and Triacastela begins in earnest, with spectacular views over the Lugo valleys.
