What is there in Fillobal

Fillobal is a small village in the municipality of Triacastela, in Lugo Province, on the Camino Frances.

With fewer than ten residents, Fillobal is barely a handful of stone houses halfway down the great descent from the Alto do Poio to Triacastela, in a landscape of meadows, dry-stone walls and cows that marks your entry into rural Galicia. It has no monuments or documented history worth highlighting, and that is precisely part of its charm: it is one of those places where the Camino is lived in silence. What it does offer is a small hostel right on the route, open in season, useful for anyone who wants to cut the stage before Triacastela, about four kilometres downhill, via Pasantes and Ramil among centuries-old chestnut trees.
