A Brea is a small hamlet in the municipality of Sarria, in Lugo Province, on the Camino Frances.
For several generations of pilgrims, A Brea was the place of the symbolic moment par excellence: here stood the famous 100-kilometre marker to Santiago, covered in pebbles, messages and signatures, where almost everyone stopped for a photo. With the latest official measurements, that milestone has moved a little further on, towards Ferreiros, but the feeling of entering the last hundred kilometres still begins around here. The hamlet is a cluster of a few houses, without monuments, among meadows and copses, about eleven and a half kilometres from Sarria. From here the Camino continues from hamlet to hamlet, almost without a break, towards Morgade and Ferreiros.
