Located in the Montes de Oca district, Castildelgado sits at an altitude of 770 metres above sea level and covers an area of 4.95 km². It borders Redecilla del Campo and Ibrillos to the north, Redecilla del Camino to the east, Bascuñana to the south, and Viloria de Rioja to the west. Its strategic location on the Camino Frances makes it a meeting point for pilgrims from all over the world.

Virgen del Campo and Thanksgiving

Santa Águeda
On 5 February the feast of Santa Águeda is commemorated. After the morning Mass, it is traditional to hold the “atrancón” — a sweet wine gathering — at the hostel, a celebration that combines religious devotion with community and culinary enjoyment.

Castildelgado is one of the villages that mark the Camino Frances, the most heavily travelled Way of St. James.
