What is there in El Burgo Ranero

El Burgo Ranero is a town and municipality in the Sahagún district, in Leon Province, on the Camino Frances.

In the middle of the León plain, after kilometres of straight path through cereal, El Burgo Ranero appears as a village of about seven hundred people that keeps the character of Tierra de Campos: low adobe houses, wide streets and the church of San Pedro as its landmark. Its municipal hostel is almost a symbol: it was built in adobe and wood respecting traditional architecture, runs on donations with volunteer hospitaleros and bears the name of Domenico Laffi, the Italian priest who walked to Santiago in the 17th century and wrote about his journey. It is a quiet stage end, with long sunsets over the plain. On the way out comes one of the most monotonous stretches of the Camino: thirteen kilometres with hardly any change to Reliegos, so leave with water.

Distances from El Burgo Ranero

From El Burgo Ranero to Reliegos it is about 12.8 km.

To Mansilla de las Mulas it is about 18.8 km.

And to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, in Santiago de Compostela, about 349.3 km remain.
