The experience of the Camino Frances has marked a turning point in Jorge de la Rosa’s life and inner world. This is something very significant for him, as he was facing one of the most difficult stages of his existence. He was fighting to climb out of a deep depression and, inside him, he was carrying a great deal of pain that he needed to release. To do so, he had to confront that pain with every step he took until reaching the Santiago Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela. Every kilometre covered became an opportunity to confront his deepest feelings and emotions.
In this seventh chapter of his personal experience, Jorge continues exploring his inner world in search of answers that will help him heal. He wants to achieve this not only to overcome the pain he carries inside, but also to be able to live a life of peace and calm. The Camino is giving him moments of solitude that allow him to reflect and think about his life. However, covering so many kilometres across the plain has begun to cause pain in his right leg, which has intensified and is now causing him some trouble. This physical pain adds to the emotional burden he already carries.
Along this beautiful stretch of the Camino, Jorge will have the chance to visit extraordinary places full of history such as Sahagún, where he’ll collect the pilgrim’s letter certifying he has reached the halfway point of the Camino. He’ll also pass through El Burgo Ranero, Mansilla de las Mulas and finally León, where he’ll admire the majesty of its cathedral, an impressive work of art. These stages of the Camino, together with the great effort he has already made over the previous three stages, will keep testing his mental and emotional strength. Jorge is determined to face every challenge that comes his way on this journey and to keep moving forward in his search for inner peace and personal healing.
